APIS Platform 2.0: Improving the Product and Its Engineering Foundation

APIS Platform 2.0 improved the existing web experience while strengthening the backend for future growth. Rather than treating the interface and infrastructure as separate projects, we worked on the user-facing flow and the systems supporting it together.

Project context

Blockchain complexity easily leaks into user experience. Users may have to understand wallets, networks, and transaction states, and when the backend is unreliable they may not even know whether a request succeeded. Platform 2.0 aimed to reduce that friction while making the codebase easier to maintain and extend.

What I worked on

I improved the web interface and flows so that users could reach the platform’s core features more naturally. We considered how frontend changes affected APIs and data processing, and strengthened backend scalability and maintainability so that each new feature would not reproduce the same structural constraints.

I also helped define release scope, priorities, and dependencies among tasks. Rather than attempting every requested change at once, we separated immediate user needs from longer-term technical debt and agreed on what had to be completed within the schedule. Working across implementation and delivery taught me that a technically sound decision must also be explainable within product goals and project constraints.

What I learned

Platform 2.0 expanded my perspective from individual features to the product as a connected system. A small frustration in the interface could originate in backend architecture, while a reasonable server constraint could become an incomprehensible experience for a user. Improving only one layer rarely solved the full problem.

That habit remained with me in later projects: understand the interface, API, and operations as one flow. Successful modernization is not measured by the novelty of the technology introduced. Users should encounter less friction, and the team should be able to add the next feature more safely. This project was an early experience of pursuing both outcomes together.
